What are the shadows that trick our minds; can we be honestly sure that what we see is true? What makes us stop and wonder?

‘I’ve never seen anything like it before, I loved how random it was. Bizarre and creepy!’, audience member

nocturn dance created a two-day unique immersive event on Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June. Live streaming over a period of 18 hours and five live opportunities to engage in a dark, emotionally charged interactive contemporary dance work.

This ground-breaking, immersive live dance performance saw the culmination of a 72-day transmedia campaign, and incorporated a blend of web feeds, social media and a site specific performance. Five fictional characters living out a life on Facebook and Twitter provided audiences with an opportunity to interact, question and lead the way in how the experience unfolded.

dareyouwatch.com brings together professional dance artists from the South East,

Newbury College students from their Art and New Media programmes, West Berkshire young dancers and adult recreational dancers from South Hill Park.

The live experience took place in The Gallery of South Hill Park, the Berkshire Arts Venue which has its own digital media centre specialising in live streaming activities.

A SHP Live commissioned piece, in partnership with Newbury College. The project is funded and supported by West Berkshire Council and Arts Council England.
