WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

  • No, you are not but we understand how those negative thoughts can hold you back.

Our founder, John Darvell, had the same thoughts when he nervously joined his first dance class at the age of 30. He didn’t know what to expect and his biggest fear was that he would make a fool of himself. He’s now so grateful that he pushed himself through that door.

We work hard to achieve dance classes that work for everyone. Watch our trailer now to see life in the studio for newbies and some more advanced dancers. Like it?

We offer a ‘Try Before You Buy’ to help you decide. Just find a studio class you like the sound of and give it a go for free. That makes it easy for you to see how we work before parting with your hard-earned dosh. Alternatively, we can call you and guide you through all our classes and answer your questions.

  • There are many different styles of contemporary dance.

Every contemporary dance teacher has been inspired by one or more of them and uses their own distinct approach for training.

HOW DO YOU FIND THE DANCE STYLE AND METHOD OF DELIVERY THAT WORKS FOR YOU?

  • Good news.

You don’t need to spend major amounts of money on a expensive new dance kit or dance shoes. Loose fitting clothing works just fine. In the studio we do the class in bare feet or you can wear any soft shoes like a ballet slipper.

  • Let’s just say the music played is eclectic!

We dance to soothing modern classical as well as favourites from 80s/90s dance music to the current chart hits. Each piece of music compliments and supports the learning of the movement. And, yes, sometimes it’s just for fun too.

If there's a special tune that works for you, let us know and we’ll treat everyone to a bonus track.

  • Tut tut!

Let’s first put a stop those negative thoughts. Nobody has two left feet. They’ve just not found the right dance class or dance teacher to support their learning. We hope we can get you dancing and enjoying it in no time.

We all learn at varied speeds, have diverse needs and respond to different learning styles. Three words keep popping up from our long term participants feedback - our classes are fun, challenging and supportive. So yes, it might feel daunting at the beginning. However, the key to your success is that you will be joining a class which is filled with humour and fun. Plus you will not only get support from our class teachers but a very supportive group of individuals just like you.

  • If you’re looking for an adult dance class in Newbury or Bracknell then you’re in luck. If that’s a bit far for you to travel then it’s still worth messaging us via our contact page. We just might be considering starting another class near you soon. We have some new classes starting in Scotland this year.

If we can’t help then we would recommend you contact One Dance UK (https://www.onedanceuk.org) or People Dancing (https://www.communitydance.org.uk) who are the industry national organisations. We’d hope they’d be able to guide you to dance provider local to you.

  • Currently, we deliver from 3 venues – Newbury College, Corn Exchange & South Hill Park.

The address for each of those is listed below.

If it’s your first time then do contact us and we can arrange a call to talk through where the studios are in those buildings.

  • That’s easy to answer. Nothing in terms of the quality of teaching and the fun supportive space.

Due to demand and space at Bracknell we split groups into different levels - Beginners and Improvers dance class. While Newbury is a bigger studio so weekly classes are mixed ability. Newbury is also the home of our Dare to Dance class specifically for anyone over 55.

  • This one is a bit complicated.

Our classes at Newbury College are bookable directly through us so no you don’t have to pay for the whole term. What we offer are two options - a monthly membership scheme and a drop-in rate.

The other venues we work with you have to pay for the whole term and don’t offer drop-in rates.
